Grand Day Out

On Saturday 12th September, during the weekend of Middleton’s Heritage Open Days – we saw a free landtrain running every half hour from Middleton Gardens and taking people on a tour of some of our famous Golden Cluster buildings with the one and only Edgar Wood acting as guide! At each stop there was a whole host of activites! Over 400 adults and children enjoyed the day despite the terrible weather; Middleton Arena joined in the fun with a Vintage Fire Engine, Arts and Crafts workshops and First Aid work shops situated on the forecourt. The Arts and Crafts Church on Long Street were running guided tours around the church for the whole of the day as well as homing Merlin the Magician, Punch and Judy and a selection of childrens fun games. In Middleton Gardens you could enjoy a walk around our Street Market whlst the children enjoyed a facepaint and glitter tattoo as well as sample the great food we had to offer. The day was a great success and we would like to thank our community as always, for their support to Middleton! Don’t forget – it is still Golden Cluster Month where you can gain free entry each Tuesday and Friday afternoon to four of our most famour golden cluster buildings! No appointment neccessary – just grab your coat and your shoes and head on out!
